8 Benefits Next Gen ErgoRack Users Can Expect
Generations of tradesmen and contractors have relied on ErgoRack’s effectiveness in safely loading and unloading work ladders. Its reliability, its ease of use, and its ability to maximize storage vehicle capacity have made it the go-to option on thousands of Ford Transits, RAM ProMasters, F150s, and other commercial vehicles.
Still, we knew the original ergonomic ladder rack could continually evolve—and it did, like when we upgraded our signature blue hydraulic cylinder’s fluid to be temperature-stable.
Now with the latest set of comprehensive updates that simplify it and improve nearly every aspect, you’ll experience these Next Gen ErgoRack benefits:
1. More user-friendly ladder positioning
The new ErgoRack’s rotation with slide feature allows for more user- friendly, ergonomic ladder positioning on low roof or high roof vehicles with the removal of one bolt—now dropping down to a full 22 inches on high roofs.
2. Interchangeable driveshaft usage
We’ve simplified the driveshaft, converting it to a hex design with ratcheting wrench on a removeable handle, allowing for either street side, curb side, low-roof, or high roof usage.
3. Cross-vehicle compatibility
The rear driveshaft’s ability to spin 180° during installation enables seamless compatibility for applications that require either a short end or a long end that extends to the rear (for either van configuration or pickup truck configuration).
4. A fully stowed rack
Our hex driveshaft allows users to close the rack fully when light or no ladder is being stowed.
5. Lighter driveshaft
Due to its simplified design, our hex driveshaft reduces overall weight by over 10 lbs. per rotation on high roof vehicles and increases your carrying capacity.
6. Effortless locking capability
With easier reach-up heights and locking provisions at the slide handle ends, locking and unlocking your ladder is more ergonomic than ever.
7. Avoids mirror contact
With the standard rotation slide, you can avoid mirror interference during ladder removal.
8. Hydraulically dampened descent
As always, our signature blue cylinder uses an aircraft-grade, temperature stable hydraulic fluid that slows the descent of heavy ladders.
